Gabriele ALBERTINI MEP
EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament
On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the exhibition “War, Hope and Peace” by AVSI and Pubblicità Progresso, continues on its international tour at the European Parliament in Brussels, following a presentation at the United Nations in Geneva. The Brussels exhibition has been made possible by the initiative of Gabriele Albertini MEP (EPP-ED, Italy).

The exhibition consists of a collection of drawings made by former child-soldiers from Northern Uganda during the psycho-social recovery and educational programs implemented by the AVSI Foundation (www.avsi.org), a humanitarian and development NGO based in Italy, active in 39 countries, including Uganda since 1984. The drawings illustrate the tremendous scourge inflicted on children of war, coupled with the inspiring lesson that it is possible, with support, to recover some sense of a normal childhood and to regain hope and confidence in themselves and their future.

The exhibition will take place in the Yehudi Menuhin hall of the European Parliament in Brussels on 15-19 September.
