Christine de Veyrac MEP (France) organises a conference on Solar Impulse project. The project aims to fly around the world in five legs in 2011 in an airplane propelled exclusively by solar energy and emitting no polluting emissions.

This project aims not only at the accomplishment of an aeronautical challenge following the pioneers of last century steps but also to bring to light the fight against climate change effects by performing a flight around the world without combustible nor polluting emissions. The conference will be opened in presence of Jacques Barrot, Vice-President of the European Commission, Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, Solar Impulse President and CEO.

The event takes place on Wednesday 9 April from 4.30 to 6.30pm in room ASP 3E2 of the European Parliament.
