Swimming for peace, friendship and clean waters

Alojz Peterle MEP (Slovenia) will present the project 'Amazon swim 2007', followed by a Slovenian specialities reception on Monday 24 September 2007 at 17.30 hours in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The project will be introduced by Martin Strel, ultra-marathon swimmer and holder of 5 Guinness records, who set a world record by swimming 5.268 km down the Amazon river.

The event will be accompanied by songs by Slovenian octet group Pushluschtae.
