Anders Wijkman MEP (EPP-ED, Sweden) is organising a conference on "Keeping people and goods moving, Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS): ERTICO" in the European Parliament on Monday 20 November. The sustainable mobility of people and goods in Europe continues to play a key role in nearly all policy fields.

To better harness the benefits of novel technologies and organisational forms, over 100 stakeholders in the field of mobility - public authorities, industry, users and infrastructure operators - are currently Partners of ERTICO (www.ertico.com). This Brussels-based public and private partnership is working to facilitate the safe, secure, efficient and comfortable mobility of people and goods in Europe, across all transport modes. A key tool for reaching this goal is the widespread deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS). ITS is the convergence of information and communications technology with transport infrastructure, users and vehicles.
