An international seminar on humanitarian situation in the Northern Uganda called The Human Challenge in Northern Uganda - Witnesses of War, Hope & Peace took place in the European Parliament on 10 July 2006. The seminar was chaired by Vice-President of the European Parliament Mario Mauro MEP (EPP-ED, Italy).

Academicians, journalists and persons with personal experiences from the crisis in the northern Uganda participated on the seminar, among them also Roberto Fontolan, author of the book Kop ango? One day in Northern Uganda. The coordinator of the event was AVSI foundation, which is focusing on the crises in central Africa.
