The non-governmental organisation Health Consumer Powerhouse is organising a conference EuroHealth Consumer Summit 2006 together with Christopher Fjellner MEP (EPP-ED, Sweden). The conference will take place in Renaissance Hotel in Brussels, on 26th June at 16.00-19.00.

The conference will introduce an index on national health care systems across the EU in areas that are key to the customer - patients’ rights and information, waiting times for common treatments, customer friendliness and access to medication. The knowledge of such data is crucial for the work of the EP on the proposed Programme of Community action in the field of health and consumer protection (2007-2013). The Index of Health Consumer Powerhouse helps by measuring the outcome and service levels for the actual users.
