Thursday 6 July, in front of the European Parliament building in Strasburg a demonstration of Belarusian immigrants living in Belgium and France took place. They protested against the regime of Alexander Lukashenka. The demonstration took place before the vote of the EP on the resolution about the situation of media in Belarus.

The demonstration was attended by two Polish EPP-ED Members: Barbara Kudrycka and Bogdan Klich, both members of the EP-Belarus delegation and Mrs Iryny Krasouskaya the chairwoman of the civil initiative "We remember" and the wife of a businessman who strongly supported the opposition and disappeared in mysterious circumstances in 1999.

The EPP-ED Members and Mrs Krasouskya signed a petition calling for the improvement of the situation of the media, a democratic and free Belarus.

The European Parliament adopted the resolution with an overwhelming majority. This resolution was the fourth adopted by the House this term.
