There are 36 parties from 25 countries. All EPP parties are centre parties; depending on tradition, some are more christian-democratic others more liberal-conservative.

Parliamentary Groups of the EPP
The parliamentary Group of the EPP in the European Parliament, following the 1994 European elections, is composed of 180 members (President : Wilfried MARTENS, CVP/Belgium).
Since 1994 the Committee of the Regions of the European Union has an EPP Group with 150 Members and substitutes.(President: Jos CHABERT, CVP/Belgium). There are also EPP Groups in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (President: Walter SCHWIMMER, ÖVP/Austria), and in the Assembly of Western European Union in Paris (President: José Luis LÓPEZ-HENARES, PP/Spain).
The Presidents of the European Parliament (José María GIL-ROBLES, PP/Spain), of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (Leni FISCHER, CDU/Germany) and of the OSCE Assembly (Javier RUPÉREZ, PP/Spain)are also from the ranks of EPP member parties.
