EPP-ED Hearing on Healthy development of children

"Chances for the healthy development of children - a European Challenge" was the topic of the hearing organised by Marie Panayotopoulos MEP and Chairwoman of the Committee on Industry, Research, and Energy, Angelika Niebler MEP (Germany) on Thursday 12 June 2008 in the European Parliament.

Over 200 million children in the world suffer from disabilities. Renowned medical experts, researchers and the Commission representatives will exchange views on how to better address the problems of children with disabilities, in particular through the development of early diagnosis techniques and further research activities, and ensure their full social and later professional integration.
