European Parliament Open Days in Brussels

7 June 2008

On Saturday 7 June, the European Parliament opened its doors to the public. Citizens were invited to visit the Parliament and take part in various activities. This year, the event celebrated the Year of Intercultural Dialogue and focussed on the new face the European Union will have once the Lisbon Treaty has been ratified in all Member States.

As in the past, the EPP-ED Group invited its Belgian sister parties, CD&V, N-VA, CDH and CSP to participate in the Brussels Open days alongside its own presentation stands. Several Belgian and Dutch MEPs attended the Open Day, which is a unique opportunity for the public to acquaint itself with the working of the representative body of the European Union and to talk to Members of the European Parliament in informal surroundings.
