EPP-ED Study Day on Russia

The EPP-ED Group has organised a study day on Russia on Thursday 15 May in the European Parliament.

Daul, Chairman of the EPP-ED Group, made the opening address. Representatives from the European Institutions, Russian and American academics, business leaders, MEPs and former Russian Prime Minister and Chairman of the Democratic Union, Mikhail Kasyanov, discussed EU-Russian relations in sessions including: "
The EU and Russia: New Challenges and common interests", chaired by João
Pinheiro, Vice-Chairman of the EPP-ED Group, "
Russia, energy and the EU: How dependent are they on each other?", "
Russia after the elections: What potential for common values?" and "
Russia and the European Neighbourhood".
Speakers included Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Jacek
Saryusz-Wolski MEP (Poland), and Co-Chair of the Delegation for Relations with Russia, Ria
Oomen-Ruijten MEP (Netherlands).
