The Tibet Intergroup of the European Parliament is organising a Parliamentary Conference on Tibet on Thursday 8th November. Thomas Mann MEP, Chairman of the Intergroup on Tibet, will address the conference, which will focus on environmental pollution in China and the 2008 Olympic Games.

The conference will begin at 9.30am in room ASP 3E2 until 1pm, and from 3pm to 5.30pm in room PHS 3C50 of the European Parliament.

The opening of the Tibetan Mandala takes place on Tuesday 6th November. A Mandala is a sand painting of approximately one square meter. It has become a generic term for any plan, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically, a microcosm of the Universe from the human perspective.
