A New Regional Policy: Innovative Ideas for the post-2013 Reform

Several experts in the field were invited by EPP-ED Members to share their ideas on regional policy, ahead of the post-2013 reform. The Hearing consisted of two parts: The first part was dedicated to the Fourth Report on Economic and Social Cohesion (chaired by the Parliament's rapporteur Mr Ambroise GUELLEC). The second mainly focussed on new ideas that could be considered for the future reform of cohesion policy (chaired by the EPP-ED spokesperson on regional policy Mr Lambert van NISTELROOIJ). Six external experts were present to debate their visions and ideas. The opening remarks were made by Mr Gerardo GALEOTE, Chairman of the Committee on Regional Development (REGI), and Dr Michael SCHNEIDER, Vice-Chairman of the Commission on Territorial Cohesion (COTER) in the Committee of the Regions.
