EPP-ED Study Day on EU-China Relations

The EPP-ED Group is organising a Study Day on EU-China relations on Thursday 18 October in the European Parliament. China has to take responsiblity in its international dealings in proportion to its political and economic influence and the international rights and obligations that it has willingly taken on. How the EU can engage China in a comprehensive dialogue to achieve those goals will be debated by members of the EPP-ED Group.

The conference will be opened by João de Deus Pinheiro MEP (Portugal), EPP-ED Vice-Chairman. Ignacio Salafranca MEP (Spain), EPP-ED Coordinator in the Foreign Affairs Committee and Robert Sturdy MEP (United Kingdom), EPP-ED Coordinator in the International Trade Committee will be involved in panel discussions in the presence of Ambassador Guan, Chengyuan, Ambassador of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the EU, Robert Cooper Director-General of RELEX in the Council of the European Union and David O'Sullivan, Director-General of DG Trade in the European Commission.
