The Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality is organising a public hearing on the situation of women in prison and the impact of imprisonment of parents on social and family life on Tuesday, 26th June. The hearing is held ahead of an own-initiative report by Marie Panayotopoulos-Cassiotou MEP (Greece).
The hearing is chaired by committee chairwoman Anna Záborská MEP (Slovakia), and among the speakers are Mercedes Gallizo Llamas, Director-General of the Penitentiary Institutions in Spain, and Alain Bouregba, Directeur of the "Fédération des relais enfants parents" in France.
