Public Hearing on Pharmaceuticals - Putting an End to Drug Counterfeiting
EPP-ED Group MEPs are organising the first European Parliamentary symposium on pharmaceuticals."Putting an End to Drug Counterfeiting" is co-chaired by Françoise Grossetête MEP (France), Karl-Heinz Florenz MEP (Germany) and John Bowis MEP (United Kingdom), Members of the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety.

The hearing focuses on the fight against drug counterfeiting and pharmaceuticals trafficking. Among the many participants from private enterprises, public agencies and EU institutions are Vice-President of the European Commission Günter Verheugen (Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry) and Markos Kyprianou, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection.

The hearing takes place in the European Parliament, room P3C 050 on Monday May 14th from 14.00. Interpretation will be provided in French, English, German, Spanish and Italian.
