Special EPP-ED Group Meeting commemorating the 1956 Hungarian revolution

The EPP-ED Group held a special Group Meeting in Strasbourg on Tuesday 24th October to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian revolution.

Speeches were given by Hans-Gert Poettering MEP, Chairman of the EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament, José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Viktor Orbán, Chairman of Fidesz Hungarian Civic Union and former Prime Minister of Hungary, and József Szájer MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP-ED Group and Head of the Hungarian Delegation in the EPP-ED Group, who presented a new book with texts from several MEPs called My '56.
