Conference on "EPP priorities for a Europe closer to the citizens"

On Wednesday 7 June, the European People's Party (EPP) held a conference entitled "EPP Priorities for a Europe closer to the citizens" with the participation, amongst others, of the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, the President of the EPP, Wilfried Martens, the Secretary-General of the EPP, Antonio López–Istúriz MEP, and the Chairman of the EPP–ED Group in the European Parliament, Hans–Gert Poettering MEP.

The conference included four panels: "Driving Economic Reforms in Europe", "From European Security to Global Responsibility", "Reforms for more Transparency and Efficiency in the EU", and "External Borders of the EU in the context of Enlargement".
