José I. Salafranca MEP and singer Juanes join forces against landmines in Latin America

The plenary chamber in Brussels was the frame of a special performance by Colombian singer Juanes, campaigning against the use of landmines. The event, entitled "Europe and Latin America for a world without mines - Mind your step", aimed at raising awareness of the situation faced by Colombia which has more landmine victims than any other country.

The event was held ahead of the EU-Latin America Summit in May and was introduced by José Ignacio Salafranca Sánchez-Neyra MEP and the President of the European Parliament.
