Schuman Medal awarded to Wolfgang Schäuble

Wolfgang Schäuble MP, Vice-Chairman of the CDU/CSU Group in the German Bundestag responsible for Foreign, Security and European policy, was awarded the Robert Schuman Medal by the EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament on Wednesday, 29 June 2005 during the EPP-ED Group's pre-Strasbourg meeting in Brussels. The Schuman medal is an honour presented to people who have made outstanding contributions to European integration.

The Chairman of the EPP-ED Group, Hans-Gert Poettering, held a press conference on the perspectives of European policy together with Wolfgang Schäuble MP.
