    From 31 March to 3th April the Fifth session of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Brazzaville (Republic of the Congo).

    The Parliamentary Assembly will discuss the situation in the African Great Lakes region and the situation in various countries or regions such as West Africa, Central Africa, Southern Africa, East Africa,Carribean, Pacific, European Union and Zimbabwe.

    Other points on the agenda are the multilateral negotiations (Doha Round) and preparations for the WTO Conference in Cancún (Mexico) and the progress in negotiations on the Economic Partnership Agreements.

    Other topics of discussion are the Environmental protection and commercial navigation on the River Congo, Environmental issues linked to the oil industry and Peace and conflict prevention and resolution.
