- Born 1918. Married with four children. Educated Harrow and Balliol College, Oxford (President of the Oxford Union 1940). 1951-84, director of APV Group (60 companies worldwide). Also Chairman of Incinco. Consultant to St Regis International. Specialised knowledge of international affairs, industry, energy and technology, employment matters, small businesses and trade. Member, Royal Institute of International Affairs, Royal Thames Yacht Club.
- Languages: French, German, Italian. EDG Spokesman, Energy and Research Committee (1989-1992) and British Conservative Spokesman (1992-1994), and former Vice-Chairman of Committee. Vice-President of EP Intergroup for Animal Welfare.
