20/05/1998 : EPP Group awards Robert Schuman essay prize

The EPP Group's annual Robert Schuman Essay prize has been won by Italian student Lisa Di Medio. Along with second prize winner, Spaniard María del Mar Delgado and third-placed Belgian Stephanie Muylle, Lisa will be receiving her prize at a ceremony which will take place on Wednesday, 27 May 1998, at 11.30 hours, in room 1A002 of the Parliament's Leopold building.

The Schuman Essay Prize was instituted by the EPP Group on 9 May 1995 to mark the 45th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. It is open to young people between the ages of 16 to 18 from all EU Member States. The theme of this year's competition was the importance of the Euro.

The prize giving ceremony will be open to the press.
