The right to petition the European Parliament is a right accorded to all European citizens and residents of the EU under Article 194 of the Treaty. The Petitions Committee aims to ensure, in close cooperation with the European Commission and the concerned national authorities, that remedies are found for those complaints by citizens that fall under the obligations of Community law.
