Annual report on the Common Foreign and Security Policy

The Foreign Affairs Committee will examine the annual report on the Common Foreign and Security Policy drafted by Committee Chairman Jacek Saryusz-Wolski MEP (Poland). The report considers the Parliament's external action priorities for 2008.
|
A limited number of subjects should be given priority which better relate to the concerns of European citizens and to their expectations as regards the role to be played by the EU in international affairs, such as security, including energy security, climate change, migration management, human rights and civil liberties. The Parliament also sets out a general course of action for different countries and regions in Europe and the world, with enlargement remaining high on the scale of foreign policy instruments.
