Amalia SARTORI MEP
EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament

The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety has adopted by an overwhelming majority Amalia Sartori's MEP (EPP-ED, Italy) three reports on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures today, Wednesday 2 April.

The implementation of the Globally Harmonised System of classification and labelling of chemicals in the EU requires certain changes to the existing legislation. The current reports are meant to be the vehicle for bringing the principles of GHS into European legislation while largely building on the existing EU system, in line with REACH.

The EPP-ED Group is leading the way in finding the right balance to provide the highest possible protection of the environment, while taking into account the interests of European industry.
