Philip Charles BRADBOURN MEP
EPP-ED Group in the European Parliament
A debate on common rules in the field of aviation and security will take place on Monday 10 March during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Philip Bradbourn MEP (United Kingdom) is the EPP-ED Group spokesperson on the subject.

Current EU Regulation has been revised to provide for an increased level of security and convenience for flight passengers. Parliament is adopting an agreement reached with Council on future measures such as the introduction of a single security check, or One-Stop Security for domestic EU flights or flights to and from safe third countries. Sky marshalls may be onboard aircraft provided both the countries of departure and arrival agree. Parliament was successful in persuading the Council that additional costs of extra, short-term security measures, especially those related to fighting terrorism, should not be passed on to passengers.
