The Committee on Climate Change of the European Parliament is organising a hearing on Monday 3 March. Theme leader Etelka Barsi-Pataky MEP (Hungary) will lead the debate on global emissions.

Environmental experts and industry chiefs will discuss the emission sources from the industry, energy and transport sector. Karl-Heinz Florenz MEP (Germany), author of the committee's final report, will also address the hearing.

Ms Barsi-Pataky believes that it is necessary to combine a range of mutually supportive and corrective measures in order to achieve the aim of making European transport sustainable in energy and in environmental terms.
