Transparency of Institutional Investors

The Legal Affairs Committee is holding a hearing on the transparency of institutional investors on Monday 25 February. Rapporteur and EPP-ED legal affairs spokesperson Klaus-Heiner Lehne MEP (Germany) and draftswoman for the Legal Affairs opinion on Hedge Funds, Piia-Noora Kauppi MEP (Finland), will open the hearing.
European-based hedge funds and private equity require an environment which respects their innovative strategies in order to remain internationally competitive while mitigating the effects of potential adverse market dynamics.

At the hearing, the experts will express their views on whether and how the mitigation of systemic risks could be addressed by the EU legislator. The hearing will take place at 3pm in the European Parliament in Brussels.
