More transparency in the use of EU funds

On Monday 18th February the European Parliament will debate a report by José Javier Pomés Ruíz MEP (Spain) on 'Transparency in Financial Matters' aimed at increasing transparency and public awareness in the use of EU funds in all the institutions.

This will provide the possibility of identifying the main beneficiaries of the money and of establishing a 'blacklist' of confirmed fraud cases. These measures, among others proposed in the report, will improve the protection of EU financial interests and the use of taxpayers' money.
