Middle East: First official visit by the EPP-ED Group

From 3 to 6 February, Chairman of the EPP-ED Group, Joseph Daul MEP, will lead a high-level delegation to Israel and Palestine, the first official delegation to go to this region from the most influential political group in the European Parliament.


Chairman Daul will be accompanied by several members of his group who have responsibilities within the European Parliament for dialogue and the peace process in the Middle East. These are Vito Bonsignore MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EPP-ED Group in charge of relations with Mediterranean countries, Elmar Brok MEP, former Chairman of Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Jana Hybášková MEP, Chairwoman of the Parliament's delegation for relations with Israel, Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou MEP, Vice-President of the European Parliament in charge of relations with Mediterranean countries, Tokia Saïfi MEP, Chairwoman of the Political Committee of the Euromed Parliamentary Asssembly, and José Salafranca MEP, EPP-ED Group Coordinator in the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
