EPP-ED Group Chairman Joseph Daul MEP leads the debate as Parliament assembles for its last plenary session of 2007 on Tuesday 18th December. On the agenda are the achievements of the outgoing Portuguese EU Presidency and the European Council meeting of 13 and 14 December.

It will provide the Members of Parliament with the opportunity to comment upon the results of the Union's summit which took place here in Brussels and the signing of the new Treaty which will improve the functioning of the institutions. The session also includes the formal signing of the EU budget for 2008.
