Preparation for Lisbon

Ahead of the crucial Intergovernmental Conference to be held in Lisbon on 18 October, expected to provide the future legal basis of the European Union and assure the smooth functioning of its institutions, EPP-ED Group Chairman Joseph Daul MEP (France) will lead the key debate in the European Parliament on Wednesday, 10th October.

The EPP-ED Group supports the Intergovernmental Conference but warns that the agreed commitments must be respected in order not to unravel the fine compromise reached at the last European Summit.
