The Culture and Education Committee of the European Parliament hosted a public hearing about the results of the Bologna Process on Thursday, 4 October. The discussion was led by rapporteur Doris Pack MEP (EPP-ED, Germany).
The event included presentations by several experts from national ministries for education and non-governmental organisations on European education systems. The focus was on the changes in education systems thanks to the Bologna process and how this has affected the quality of education of European children.
The Bologna Process aims to create a European Higher Education Area by 2010, in which students can choose from a wide and transparent range of high quality courses and benefit from smooth recognition procedures.
