Theme of the day of 6 December 2006

A conference on 'The Afterlife of Communist Secret Police', hosted by György Schöpflin MEP (EPP-ED, Hungary) will take place on Wednesday 6 December in the European Parliament, room ASP 5E2, from 9am to 12pm. The conference will examine the development of secret services in post-communist Europe, specifically in Russia, Romania, Hungary, and Poland.
