The Transport and Tourism Committee of the European Parliament today adopted a report at second reading for a new community directive on driving licenses. The directive ensures the replacement of the 110 different models that currently exist in the EU with a license that resembles a credit card. More than 200 million European holders of driving licenses for cars, motorcycles, buses or lorries will receive a single European driving license that replaces their current national driving license.
